Students move house a lot. From the family home to halls of residence to shared flat to shared flat. And quite often they need to move all their stuff back home again in the summer. How are you supposed to put the entire contents of a student flat in your parents’ house? Not many families have the room for a whole extra set of kitchen equipment, bedding and all the other paraphernalia that comes with a year away (traffic cone anyone?)
And, at the end of your course, there may well be a gap, or even a whole gap year, before you start your dream job and potentially relocate to another part of the country. Yet again you end up back at your family home. Your welcome will be much warmer if you arrive without a car load of boxes, bags, pots and pans.
