A former holiday resort on the Severn Estuary, Severn Beach is a picturesque village which is popular with birdwatchers. The beach is a mix of sand and mudflats and is frequented by many species of wading birds including Curlews, Oystercatchers, Dunlins and Sandpipers as well as a number of rare sea birds, warblers and other species.
Walkers, dog owners and cyclists also enjoy the beach, the nature reserve and the stunning views of the Severn Estuary and the two Severn Bridges across to Wales and it still attracts tourists and day-trippers as well as local residents.
The village itself has several shops and cafés, as well as a primary school, community centre and railway station. Direct trains to Bristol city centre take around 40 minutes, making it a convenient commuter base. With a wide range of accommodation, from large detached and semi-detached homes to terraced houses and bungalows, it is a great location for families and retirees.
